I pressed on "ctrl+alt+del" a few times until the task manager opened up. But the screen will not change. The mouse is there, but nothing else is. Now you should have everything back without having to install Vista and all programs all over again!

Once reformatted and reinstalled Vista, I had to update to the latest BIOS from Dell and THEN run the upgrade for the latest ATI graphics driver. It works!!
