As far as Microsoft is concerned, you can just keep using Windows 7 or 8.1 if you want Windows Media Center, although that's becoming more and more difficult. How would have valve have known about the obscure requirement for WMP when others didn't even realise it was a requirement? If there's a problem, you may need to try running the _TestRights.cmd file again and rebooting before running the Installer.cmd file once again. So I deleted the Office trail version and now I get an error message when I try to install Windows Media Player. It's annoying because even if we End Process it starts up again automatically and shows up in the task manager. I've tried everything suggested and none of it has worked for me.
